In the southern part of Africa we find war torn Congo. It is not the most well known origin for African chocolate, but it might just be the best in flavour. For one it is among few of the African countries south of the equator to grow significant amounts of cocoa, and the very special soil and micro climates you find up in the mountains around Virunga national park causes some very interesting flavours to arise.
